new year, new rules

New Year! New Moleskine, new projects, new rules. (Make that no rules. I’ll just ignore them anyway. Just like every diet I’ve ever been on.)
Why I’ve neglected you the last few months:
• I’ve been busy (making stuff for the Thought Coalition/Sickle Cell Natural Wellness Group/1310 Gallery‘s Lull/You Are What You Eat exhibition in Fort Lauderdale. If you’re in the area, drop on by. Proceeds from work sold will go directly to the Sickle Cell Natural Wellness Group. The last day is January 19th. The address: 1310 Gallery, 1310 SW 2nd Court, Fort Lauderdale, Florida)
• I’ve been busy, again (because I’m a lucky girl, assisting on Julie Chen‘s next book edition. Seriously. How the hell did that happen?! I’m so excited, I’ve had full-body spasms over it, which must be a sight to behold, I’m sure. I’ll try to write more on that later. I’m not sure how much I can divulge without revealing too much. It involves some crazy letterpress registration and many movable mechanisms. I’m not a paper engineer, but I’ve always wanted to be. Again, how the hell did I get so lucky?)
• I appear to be busy in situations where I’m actually not (because the USPS project and most of my postal art collection were curated into the Art in Transit exhibition at Ringling College of Art and Design. Hooray for you guys who sent me stuff! Here’s a link to an article about it.)
• I’ve been drunk! Yay!
• I’ve started watching disc 17 of the 22 disc complete Dark Shadows box set. I’ve also started watching the Venture Brothers from the beginning. Again. I am getting very, very antsy for season 5 to start.
I haven’t documented any mail art since around Halloween, so there’s going to be a lot of images of other people’s work coming up soon. Working in postal art, it’s good manners to document and share your bounty with others in a timely manner. I’ve clearly let my courtesy go to pot the last few months, so I apologize to anyone who’s sent me something fabulous. Your stuff deserves more than the box it’s currently residing in.
Happy New Year! Best wishes to you all! 2013 is going to be a trip!
