mucho mail, part one of two

I’m back from my road trip! I managed to make it back, all nice and sober and freshly showered. Honestly, the hygiene part probably wouldn’t have mattered since it was a 13 hour drive, 765 miles one way. But I’ll go into greater detail about my awesome trip later. It’s mail call catch-up time!
Fleur Helsingor of Oakland, California always sends such crisply designed mail with well-composed photographic images:
paper bird sightings in Japan

Mr. BS of Nagoya, Japan, has sent quite a few photos over the last two weeks:
He is a musician and performance artist. He has scheduled gigs and exhibitions, and has been taking his received birds to these events. There, he requests that the audience at the event alter them. Then with other collaborators, the birds are photographed. When asked who to attribute this work to, he suggests “Hyper Space Real Junk F #69 U R My Party Breaker.” So there you have it. (It’s all pretty brilliant.)
the mail waits for no one

Whoo! Gallery submission is done! Birthday was a drunken mess! Horse shoes were thrown and property damage occurred without bodily injury! (I’m no spring chicken anymore, so that one night of debauchery set me back a few days of recovery time.) Then, just as I’ve sobered up, all ready to get to it, the internet/tv/phone service at my house goes down for the better part of a week. (It went from being a fantastic week to being a pretty crappy one really quick.) I’ve already heard back about which of my prints are being included in the show, so now my time is consumed with finishing up some custom framing… but I’m going to take a few minutes here to share the mail I’ve received… because the mail waits for no one. (I love getting mail! Every time I go check my box, I get treasure! Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to give mail the attention it truly deserves lately…)
